BMW has once again captured the automotive world’s attention with the unveiling of the Concept Speedtop. A striking three-door shooting brake that challenges conventional luxury travel at the 2025 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Limited to just 70 units, this exclusive grand tourer blends avant-garde design with high-performance engineering. Signaling a bold new chapter for BMW’s storied tradition of innovation.
A Distinctive Silhouette
The Concept Speedtop’s most arresting feature is its unusual three-door layout and shooting brake profile. A rare sight in the luxury segment. The elongated hood, muscular rear haunches, and pinched waist evoke both raw power and refined elegance. The fixed roof, which replaces the folding top of last year’s Skytop concept. Now extends rearward to create a sleek hatchback, culminating in a sharply raked rear windshield and integrated spoiler.
A central spine runs from the hood to the roof, ending at the rear spoiler. While the roof’s gradient paint transitions from a deep maroon to shimmering silver, adding to its visual drama. Unique 14-spoke, two-tone wheels and the signature shark-nose front with an illuminated kidney grille further distinguish the Speedtop from its peers’

Luxury Meets Functionality Inside
Inside, the Speedtop is a showcase of craftsmanship and bespoke luxury. The two-seat cabin is swathed in a two-tone leather scheme—Sundown Maroon and Moonstone White—covering everything from the seats to the trunk. Brogue-style perforations and indirect lighting create an atmosphere reminiscent of a tailored suit.
Behind the seats, custom leather luggage by Italian artisan Schedoni fits snugly into dedicated storage bays. Emphasizing the car’s grand touring credentials. The trunk itself is lined in leather and illuminated with wraparound LED lighting, separated from the cabin by a fixed rear bulkhead.

Performance with Pedigree
While BMW has not disclosed full technical specifications. The Concept Speedtop is expected to house the marque’s most powerful V8 engine. Industry observers anticipate a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, similar to that in the M8 Competition Coupe. Delivering around 617 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. This ensures that the Speedtop is not just a style statement but a formidable performer on the road.

A Collector’s Dream
With only 70 units slated for production and an estimated price tag near €500,000. The Concept Speedtop is positioned as a highly collectible piece of automotive artistry. Deliveries are expected to begin later this year, offering a select group of enthusiasts the chance to own a car that is as rare as it is revolutionary.
Pushing the Boundaries of BMW Design
The Concept Speedtop is more than a limited-edition showpiece; it’s a testament to BMW’s willingness to push design and engineering boundaries. Drawing inspiration from classics like the BMW 503 and Z8, it fuses retro cues with futuristic flair, making a bold statement in a segment often defined by tradition.
“A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance even when it’s standing still,” said Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. “The BMW Concept Speedtop is characterized first of all by its profile. It is very unique in the automotive industry.
With the Concept Speedtop, BMW reimagines the grand tourer for a new era—where luxury, performance, and individuality converge in a truly unique package.
